Tara Fernandez-Ritchie
Fire Engineer
Tara is a Fire Engineer with more than three years of experience in the industry. While working full-time as a Fire Engineer, she has been studying towards the Master of Engineering Studies endorsed in Fire and the University of Canterbury.
Tara’s previous work experience includes fire safety design using both Acceptable Solutions and Verification Method. These design methods have been applied to a range of projects, from offices to health centers and warehouses. She has gained experience in modelling using software including B-Risk, Pathfinder and FDS during her time on these projects.
Tara is further expanding her experience in construction monitoring and in using the Alternative Solution methodology. Almost at the completion of her Fire Master’s, she is excited to apply the tools and knowledge that she has learnt from the course to projects she is completing professionally.
