Chloe Karayiannis

Fire Engineer

Chloe started with the Crossfire team in May 2020 and has a background in structural engineering. She is now transitioning to Fire Engineering and is completing a Master of Engineering Studies endorsed in Fire at the University of Canterbury.

Chloe has an undergraduate degree from the University of Auckland specializing in civil engineering and graduated with First Class Honours. On graduation, she was awarded a Downer Scholarship as a student intern and worked as a site engineer on projects including Holcim Dome at the Ports of Auckland and the Mount Roskill cycle way.

Before joining Crossfire, she worked at Aurecon Group in Auckland for three years on a range of new build projects, construction monitoring and fit-outs to existing buildings. Her major projects include the structural design of the Auckland Dental School for the University of Otago and Marist Primary School; design of seismic restraint of services for Auckland District Health Board.

Chloe combined her love of travel and engineering, working in London for Furness Partnership for a year, adding experience in heritage and listed buildings before returning to New Zealand in 2020. 

In her spare time, Chloe enjoys travelling and hiking as many of New Zealand’s Great Walks as she can.
